It's feels like every other week, Yemi Alade has a new song! But to be honest we aren't complaining. The self-proclaimed 'Mama Africa' is unarguably the hardest working musician in Nigeria and while lately it's felt like that hardwork has been catching up to her, with fans complaining that a lot of her recent songs/lyrics are like microwave noodles (unremarkable and bland), Yemi Alade has ignored the 'haters' and never slowed down.
Now she's back with a surprising banger, aptly and hilariously titled "Charliee", that has fans asking a valid and very cliche question....what happened to Johnny? But considering Johnny was a trifling hoe, who can blame Yemi for moving on really.
"Charliee" is the best Yemi Alade song we've heard since... last week (seeing as she drops a new song so often) and the track feels like the perfect blend of Ghanaian and Igbo culture and we absolutely love it. Listen to the song below:
